BLOG 9: PARANORMAL PHENOMENA

Hi, the topic of the blog is about paranormal, so I am going to talk about paranormal things that happened to closer people and to me. My mom always say that she has more “connexion” with things related to paranormal, she sometimes has dreams about people that later have an accident or died, so she always calls to the people the next day of the dream to make sure that the people are okay or if something happened. Also, she speaks about “energy”, like good or bad energy that some places have, and the situations that happened in that place, so, the paranormal topic it´s something common in my family. In my experience   I didn´t have so much experiences with paranormal things, the most common are dreams like sleep paralysis, where I can´t move and are very frustrating. When I was a child happened like several times that I saw things like shadows moving in the house or the feeling that someone sat in the bed when I was trying to sleep, but that things happened when I lived in Antofagasta, so I only lived 2 years there and things like that did not keep happening in the other houses. Well, I always have been in an ambient where the paranormal things are something more common that in other families, and I never thinked in more logical or scientific answers, are experiences that I have and no need more explanation, only happen. BLOG 8: A SUBJECT I ENJOY STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

Hi, today I am going to speak about a subject that I enjoy studying this semester, that subject is Institutional Analysis.

The professor of this subject is Horacio Foladori, and the dynamic of the class is established in a lecture of one of the authors related to the concept Institution and in the end of the schedule block we have a discussion between the students, about the concepts of the class, and the conclusion of the discussion is shared with the professor, who give feedback about what he thinks about the treated in the discussion.

The contest of the subject is related to the institutional analysis, so we see different authors that they refer to the creation of the institution and the state, the influence of they from the state and the place that we occupy in the different institutions. We also see the different points of view and how is possible to develop an analysis of an institution that has problems in its operation, and how can they solve it.  

I like the design of the class, the dynamic of discussing after every class about the topic is very interactive and the opinion of everyone is considered in the class.

Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?

Hi, today I going to talk about an expert of the psychology of the development, his name was Lev Vigotsky. He was a Russian psychologist of Jewish origin, was born in November 17 of 1896 in Belarus and died in June 11 of 1934 at the age of 37 years old. The fundamental idea of ​​his work is that the development of humans can only be explained in terms of social interaction. Consequently, most of his work involved the study of infant and child behaviour, as well as the development of language acquisition and the development of concepts.

His studies also include interpretations of the cognitive role of mediation tools, as well as the re-interpretation of concepts in psychology such as internalization of knowledge, he introduced the notion of zone of proximal development, and the perspective of the education and the development of the child. The studies change the form of knowledge in the human development, the concept formation and the importance of the language in the development. I like Vigotsky because these studies have been very important in the knowledge about the development of the child, and highlighting the importance of the stage of childhood in a moment when it was not highly valued. 

BLOG 6: FAVOURITE MUSICIAN

Talking about the topic of music, at present I heard different genders of music, but nothing established. So, I going to talk about a band that is very important to me. When I was younger, around 15 years old, I starting to listen grunge music, with bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains. In this moment I started to listen the band Pearl Jam, but it not was until 2 years later when I started to really like the lyrics and the musical composition of Pearl Jam and about his main singer, Eddie Vedder. 

When I was 17 years old, I went to a concert of Pearl Jam here in Chile, 2015, meaning that concert a lot to me.

 The meaning and the feelings that the songs give to me are the more important that I consider of this band. I really enjoy heard them, in bad and in good moments, but the memories that I have related to this band are very important to the form in that I think of me. Memories of older friends and cities where I lived, relationships that are gone and others that grown more with the time, the music always helps with this sort of things.

Well, I really thinked a lot about what music video include in this post, so I finally decided for something of the emotionally side of Pearl Jam.
