BLOG 5: A PHOTOGRAPH

Hi, I am not related to the topic of photography, so I decided to select one photo of the World Press Photo, searching across the years I found one photo of the year 2016, that I liked and think that I can use. 

This photo shows a humpback whale and her new born calf in Roca Partida, the smallest island of the Revillagigedo archipelago, off the Pacific coast of Mexico. 

The photo was taken the 28 January of 2015 by Anuar Patjane Floriuk, a Mexican photographer and anthropologist. This picture won the second place of the World Press Photo in the category of Nature, Singles.

When I look at this photo I lose my breath, it´s like being under the water, in the silence that the sea represents and the slow motion of the movements. Is in this moment where the whispers of the whales can be heard, where the mother and her calf share the peace of their migratory season. 

BLOG 4: MOVIES AND SERIES

Hi, today I am gonna talk about a movie called Interstella 5555 - The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, this is an animation musical science fiction film, from origin Japanese-French, and is the visual realization of Discovery, the second studio album of Daft Punk. This film was produced by Daft Punk, Cédric Hervet and Emmanuel de Buretel with Toei Animation under the supervision of Leiji Matsumoto. The particularity of this film is that it doesn´t have dialogue and uses minimal sound effects.

The plot of the film tells the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band, where the objective of the kidnaping was erase and take their minds in disks, to use the alien band to obtain fame and the “Golden Record Award”.

The main character of the movie is Stella, the bassist of the band, the others members of the band are Arpegius, the guitarist, Baryl , the drummer and Octave the keyboardist and vocalist. Other members are Shep, the astronaut that want to rescue the band and The earl de Darkwood, the captor of the band and the main antagonist.

When I was a child I saw part of this movie, I really liked the music of the movie and the form in that only the music can relate what is happening in the movie, the sad and the happy moments, the changes of the tones in the moments of mayor tension. Later like 5 years ago I try to find this movie, but my memory is not good so was very difficult. The moment when I find it was very special to me, the memory and the emotions of my childhood when I saw the movie come back, and I was really happy of find the movie.  

The movie has as core the use of the music, the rhythm of the sounds and the tone of them are very related with the film, so if you like that type of music and the animation of the 2000´s I think that you are going to like this film. 

BLOG 3: MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

My favourite piece of technology is my actual computer, in my life I had like 3 computers, always computers of desk, the first that I had was when I was 5 years old and I was very impressed with the games Solitary and Searchmines, we didn´t had connection to internet so I and my sister always try to play that games. With the pass of the years the computer was changed and the things that I would do too, so I started to play videogames after the school and the study, that until the day of today. The last year for my birthday I received my last computer, this is a real change to my past computer, because was very old and it had many problems in the moment of use it.

The mentioned computer 

  I use the computer to talk and play with friends that I meet and live in other cities of Chile, so, with the computer I can share and talk with them. I use the computer every day, always I have something to do in the computer, read a paper, study, play and talk with friends, listen to music, search images to draw, the things that I enjoy and that I dislike are connect to my computer, so I really feel like a mainstay of my life. So yeah, I think that a part of my life is linked to my computer.

BLOG 2: WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS PROGRAMME/CAREER?

Hi, today I going to talk about the how I choose the psychology career. When I was a child I didn´t have a dream job or think in a job that I can do in the future. When I am 15 years old, my older sister enter to the university, and in that moment I started to thing in what jobs I could work in the future, the options were very diverse, I never have something that I like the most to study, so in the first years in secondary studies I was going from different subjects, in the last year of the school studies I decided to study something related to the social sciences, because my best grades were in the subjects relative to the social sciences. Psychology was my first option, and sociology was my third option. My second option was forestry engineering, I also like the relative to the nature, the herbs and their conservation, so, these was my three principal options that I postulate in the university.

My experience in the university is good, I met many friends and the ambient of the campus is very peaceful and relaxed. When I finish my study program I hope to work in the roles of the people in an organization, the environment of the people´s work and the improve of the workers conditions, there are the principal themes that I would work like psychologist.

BLOG 1: MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Hi everybody, my name is Sergio Barra; I was born in August 18 of the year 1997 in the little city of Cauquenes. When I was 3 years approximately my family moved to Linares, where I started to going to the first of many schools. When I was 6 years old, we moved to Santiago, where we lived for 5 years and I changed of schools three times. In the year 2012 we moved to Antofagasta city, in the North region of Chile. Y lived two years in Antofagasta and later we moved to Iquique city. When I was 16 years old we came back to Santiago de Chile, where I finished my secondary education. In the Year 2015 I entered to the University of Chile, in the Psychology study program, where I am still studying.

My family is composed by my mom, my dad and my two older sisters. We live in a department in the San Miguel district, near to the metro station. At the present time my mom and dad do the chores of the house, one of my sisters works in a clinic and my other sister is finishing her university studies.

In my free time I delight baking and drawing, I like baking homemade desserts like lemon pie, oats cookies, pancakes, sweet things that can be eat in the dinner time. In regard to drawing, I enjoy to draw characters of manga, like Berserk, Oyasumi Pun pun, etc. I love to listen music during these activities.

Global Warming, the case of the Great Barrier Reef

In the firts days of april, a recent event was finded by researchers in Australia, The great barrier of Corals in Australia is being affected by the global warming, thus, The baby corals of the barrier cannot replace the number of coral kills by bleaching events, bleaching events, that usually not kill the corals unless their are severy. The changes in the tempature of the world, especifically in the seas, is producing problems that affect the wild life, trigger the death of different species. The death and posibility extincion of animal species affect the present ecosystem, the human action like deforastion, the greenhouse gas emissions are problems that is necesary to solve the more quickly possible. For the fullfilment of this objetives the humanity need to be more active in the delevopment of strategies, the compromise of the people to colaborate one to each other, recycling, taken care of the trash problem and the use of hazard aerosol. The awareness of this problem in the people is one of the most important points, the awake of the people is necesary to a real change in this problem.

Hi, My name is Sergio Barra, I am twenty one years old, I am in the fourth year of the psychology study program,  I was born in Cauquenes, August eighteen of the year 1997. My family is composed for my dad, my mom and two older sisters. I live in the commune of San Miguel, Santiago de Chile, in a one apartment next to the metro station. I lived in differents cities of Chile, like Iquique or Antofagasta, and in the final years of my secundary education we come to Santiago de Chile. My hobbies are baking and drawing, I like baking homemade desserts like lemon pie, oats cookies, pancackes, sweet things that can be eat in the dinner time. In regard to drawing, I enjoy to draw characters of manga, like berserk, oyasumi punpun,etc.
